This was a compound autogyro or gyrodyne. 
It took off and landed as a helicopter, and cruised as an autogyro with supplemental fixed wings. 
This had a large, four-blade rotor and two Napier Eland N.E.L.3 turboprops , one mounted under each of the fixed wings. 
For takeoff and landing the rotor was driven by tip-jets, powered by compressors driven through a clutch by the main engines, and the compressed air produced was mixed with fuel and burned. 
As a torqueless rotor system, no antitorque correction system was required, though the propeller pitch was controlled by the rudder pedals for low speed yaw control. 
The propellers provided thrust for translational flight while the rotor autorotated.

The market for the Rotodyne was that of a medium-haul 'flying bus': it would take off vertically from an inner-city heliport, with all lift coming from the tip-jet driven rotor, and then would increase airspeed, eventually with all power from the engines being transferred to the propellors with the rotor autorotating. 
In this mode, the collective pitch, and hence drag, of the rotor could be reduced, as the wings would be taking as much as half of the craft's weight. 
This would then cruise at speeds of about 150 knots to another city (say, London to Paris) where the rotor tip-jet system would be restarted for landing vertically in the city centre.

 The airframe must copy the \Rotodyne folder as it is in the Aircraft folder of FS2002 or FS2004.

Please copy all files in the \gauges folder onto the gauge in the Gauges folder of FS2002 or FS2004. 
 A general gauge is saved for the gauge bundled this time. 
 The Gauges of Beach_Baron, KingAir, EXTRA-300, Moony-Bravo and GPS are not bundled. 
 Please set up it by yourself.

[ About free software ]

 All aircraft that I made are free software. 
 The reprint and the repaint may go freely.

[ About the directions point in FS2004 ]

This aircraft model is made by using FSDS Ver2.24. 
Therefore, it is possible to play basically in FS2004(FS9). 
However........!!
For a wide large-scale aircraft, the distortion is caused and the phenomenon of the aerofoil tip's disappearing happens in the spot shooting mode. 
If this phenomenon happens, Please switch to the spot shooting mode by using other small aircraft. 
Afterwards, if this aircraft is selected, it is normally displayed.
